Connecting West Michigan

airplane-buildingYour Connection Has Arrived

Like an interstate highway that brings traffic to your town, Tulip City Airport brings businesses and organizations to our region. 100 years ago, the Holland area was a popular industrial and manufacturing port because of access to Lake Michigan. Today, we see the same benefits as a result of Tulip City Airport.

In a global market, Holland and Zeeland compete with the Midwest, the South and the world for existing and new jobs. Tulip City Airport is a venue that minimizes time and distance — making West Michigan a viable option for companies and individuals.

Why don’t the companies who use the airport most pay for all of it?

Let’s go back to that highway that runs into the city. You may not drive it often (if ever). But you know that trucks use it every day bringing goods and supplies in and out of the region. Who pays for it? We all do — because it benefits all of us, even if we aren’t the primary users. In the same way, a regional airport allows for those same goods and services to be delivered on a timely and cost efficient basis. Sometimes that means flying a part in or flying a highly skilled service technician out.

In addition, Tulip City Airport is a vital piece of our community’s medical transportation system. Whether it’s Wings of Mercy or Holland Community Hospital, doctors, nurses and patients are flown on a regular basis to urgent care facilities for life-saving measures. Without Tulip City Airport, patients would have to endure long and risky ambulance rides. Organs might not make it to the hospital on time. And our access to the best health care in the country would be diminished.
