How long will it take to learn to fly?
The FAA requires at least 40 hours of training time, but the national average is closer to 60 hours. Your instructor will probably recommend you fly 2–3 times per week. It is possible to get your license in 6 months.
How much will it cost me?
Typically costs range between $4,500–$5,500.
What is the best time of year to learn to fly?
Each season has its advantages. Summer provides long days. Winter allows improved flight performance due to cool air. Spring provides a little of both. It’s always the right time to learn to fly!
What kind of airplane will I learn on?
Tulip City Air Service uses the Cessna aircraft. Other schools will use the Cessna as well as the Beechcraft and Piper.
Are there any physical requirements for flying?
You have to pass a medical exam given by an FAA-approved physician. Certain conditions like high blood pressure or severe vision problems may be prohibitive.
